In Perugia, the opening ceremony of a solo exhibition of the Maestro Antonio Meneghetti

It was 1981 when OntoArte debuted in Perugia with the first official exhibition at Rocca Paolina. Thirty years later, and after making a number of exhibitions in some of the most prestigious venues of cities like Rome, Naples, Venice, Milan, Brasilia, Moscow, St. Petersburg, São Paulo and Berlin, OntoArte returns home with a solo exhibition of the Maestro Antonio Meneghetti in Perugia, at “Palazzo dei Priori”.

The event was under the Patronage of the Cultural Heritage of the Umbria Region, the Province of Perugia and the Municipality of Assisi. On the inaugural day, the introductory conference on the theme “The Crisis of Contemporary Art and OntoArte” was held at the “Sala de ‘Notari” by the Maestro Meneghetti and the arts historians Federica Zalabra (superintendence to the Historical and Artistic Heritage of Umbria) and Tatiana Karitonova (Hermitage Museum of St. Petersburg). Fifty paintings, along with Murano crystals, Deruta pottery, wood or enamelled metal sculptures were exposed: an exhibition with only unique pieces that will be open until the 15th December.

From what the President of the International Academy of Modern Art, Francesco De Benedetta, defined as “a philosophical movement applied to living art”  – that is OntoArte – eight permanent OntoArte galleries have been inspired going from Kiev to Beijing, passing through Trevi, the heart of that Humanism and Renaissance, in which OntoArte finds its cultural and philosophical roots.
